1 Pkg (8 oz) Cream Cheese, softened
1/2 Cup Shortening
1-2/3 Cup Sugar
2 Large Eggs
2-1/4 Cups All-purpose Flour
1 Tbs Baking Powder
1 tsp Salt
1 Cup Milk
1/4 Cup Orange Juice
1/2 Cup Nuts, chopped (I prefer cashews with this recipe)
2 Tbs Orange Zest
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.  Grease and flour two 8-1/2-inch loaf pans;
set aside.
In large mixing bowl, cream together cream cheese and shortening.
Slowly add sugar, beating until well-blended and fluffy. Add eggs one at
a time and beat well after each addition.
In a separate bowl combine flour, baking powder and salt; blend well.
Combine orange juice and milk. Slowly add to creamed mixture
alternately with milk/juice mixture but beginning and ending with flour
mixture; mix well after each addition. Finally, stir in nuts and zest.
Pour batter into prepared loaf pans. Bake at 375 degrees for 55 minutes
or until tests done with a wooden toothpick.
