3 Ingredient Dump Cake

Ingredients:

2 (42-ounce) cans pie filling, flavor of your choice
1 (15.25-ounce) box yellow or white cake mix
2 sticks unsalted butter, cold
vanilla ice cream, optional, to taste, for topping

Method:

Step 1 - Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Step 2 - Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan.
Step 3 - Add the pie filling to the prepared baking pan and spread it out evenly.
Step 4 - Sprinkle the dry cake mix over the pie filling, making sure the pie filling is completely covered. Do not stir.
Step 5 - Cut the cold butter into very thin slices.
Step 6 - Place the butter slices evenly over the cake mix layer, trying to cover most of the surface of the cake mix layer. Do not stir.
Step 7 - Bake until the top is golden-brown and the filling is bubbling around the edges, about 45 to 50 minutes.
Step 8 - Serve warm topped with the ice cream.

Honestly, could this 3-Ingredient Dump Cake get any easier? If you feel like really going crazy, you can add a fourth "ingredient" and top this dessert with some creamy ice cream. It's a great complement to the jammy pie filling base and the golden, buttery cake topping! But with or without ice cream, this 3-Ingredient Dump Cake is warm and inviting and, yes, absolutely simple to make! Yum!
