1 1/2 pounds round steak
2 Tablespoons flour
salt and pepper
1 medium carrot, chopped
1 medium onion, sliced
1 small stalk celery, chopped
1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
Cut steak in serving pieces. Mix flour, salt and
pepper. Dredge meat in flour. Place onions in bottom of pot.
Add meat. Top with carrots and celery. Cover with tomato
sauce. Cover and cook on low 8 to 10 hours (high 3 to 5
hours).
For creamy Swiss steak: Spread one 10 ounce can cream
of mushroom soup over meat. Cook as directed.
