4 oz.) caramels
5 oz. evaporated milk
1 box German Chocolate cake mix with pudding
1 ¼ cups water
1 ½ sticks melted butter
2 large eggs
2 cups chocolate chips
2 cups chopped pecans
Prep  9 by 13 cake pan.  Oven 350F
Place caramels and evaporated milk in a saucepan and melt slowly over a low heat.  Set aside.
Place cake mix, eggs, water, and melted butter in a mixing bowl.  Beat on low for 1 minute and at medium for 2 minutes.  Pour half batter into prepared pan.  Bake 13 to 15 minutes.  Cake will not be done.  Remove from oven and pour caramel mixture evenly over cake.  Sprinkle top with 1 cup pecans and 1 cup chocolate chips.
Pour remaining cake batter over the top and spread evenly.  Bake for 35 to 40 minutes.
Cool on a wire rack while still in the pan.  Toast pecans in oven for 3 minutes.  Melt remaining chips  and spread over cake and top with pecans.    Allow to cool for 30 minutes before slicing.
